there’s no argument against new shoes!

by

There they were. THE autumn shoes I had only wished to come upon in my dreams.

The perfect mix of khaki x black coolness and practical “no slipping on wet leaves”-soles, made by SLY. And I kind of walked past them, thinking no no, there’s no space for another pair!

I think that was on a Saturday… I spent the following morning clearing out my shoe boxes, because a little voice in my head told me that there would be enough space for another, tiny, little, new pair of slightly chunky boots

And there was! I succeeded! I just had to throw out an old pair of Zara boots, that I actually loved quite a bit, but looking at the condition they were in… no Mister Mint repair service on earth could put that heel back together… So I thanked them for their hard work these past years and moved on to picking up the new guys in town.

I guess you can tell how relieved I was, when the shop staff handed the box with my size in it over to me with the words “This is the last pair, you’re lucky!”
And when they actually fit me, because Japanese shoes sizing is quite interesting sometimes – but they did fit and that’s what matters.

The first outing for them was already a challenge already – Typhoon No. 18, lots of rain and lots of wind. Nevertheless the boots kept my feet dry and I had a lot of fun stomping though puddles in the rain.

I have worn them a few times since then and I couldn't be happier!
Sadly my nails are coming off a little lately so it's time to think of a new design!

Hi Nicola! I really adore those SLY boots. Is that a local brand? Also I love how you played up multiple colors with your manicure. So chic! 🙂 – Lena

Thank you so much, yes, SLY is a local brand, but I think they are slowly trying to grow within the Asian Pacific region and also global webstore! Japan has so many well developed local brands, it's great!♪
Hope you had a great weekend!

Shoe sizes here are sooo hard right?? In Germany I always used to have 39, and here I have had anything from 23cm to 26cm – where does that 3cm difference come from?? SO weird…

cute! and omg, i know how you feel about throwing shoes away… I am a shoe hoarder (i got like 50 pairs, i know, i know… need to stop) and still i always feel SO BAD when i have to throw away shoes (to make room for more, of course!!), even if i haven’t worn them all year, or if they are broken or damaged… lol.

i also had the same thing happen to me with a pair of sandals in OZOC last summer! i walked by and thought “omg, they are perfect!!” but they didn’t have my size so i tried another color and it fit perfectly, but i really really wanted that color so i said no thanks. the next day i happened to be in Shibuya and decided to check the store there and they had ONE PAIR left in my size!! i thought it was destiny! haha…

OMG 50 pairs!!! I Wish I had enough space here – I barely have 20, but I hope I can find a bigger apartment soon, I need more space…

and wow, that’s real shoe destiny!! I love that moment, when it feels like “these two have been waiting here for me!”, shoes are the best 🙂 <3

Exactly right? The more I think about it, the more pro-arguments I can come up with! 😉
