Jotaro Saito Fall / Winter 2015

by

I have to be honest, I don’t know much about Japanese Kimono fashion, except that I like the fabrics, and in Summer, I occasionally go for the traditional Yukata for fireworks.

I only wore a real Kimono once in my life for some TV thing I did a few years ago and that was when I decided that I really only liked looking at Kimono. So beautiful but not on myself!

For this reason, I was incredibly happy to join Jotaro Saito’s Runway Presentation of his Collection for Fall and Winter – beautiful people in beautiful modern traditional Kimono, all right in front of me!

I really like his take on modern prints combined with the traditional Kimono shape and some the tiny twists on the designs he did, like for example the hoods he added to some pieces or the very modern clutch designs.
