From Black to White – I got a new hair style!

I know how a lot of people are so done with ombre hair already. I thought I was too, to be honest.

Two years back I tried it for the first time and sadly ended up going to a salon that instead of a smooth gradation gave me more of a colour blocking look.

This time I went with quite different plans but ended up having the most beautiful ombre hair I could have wished for. My original plan was to have a whole head of light ash coloured hair with a slight lavender undertone. I haven’t bleached my hair in a long time, almost 6 years, and while I had no trouble bleaching my hair all the time back then, I am quite scared of it now…
So I looked for a salon capable of doing nice high tone colours and found a slightly famous one in Shibuya which a lot of known people seem to frequent and made a reservation there. I won’t tell where I went, because besides doing a wonderful job on my hair, the whole visit to the salon was horribly chaotic with hair dryers all over the hairy floor and I ended up finding bleach all over the neckline of the shirt I wore (it was an Alexander Wang T, I’m still crying…) and I think my stylist tried to hide the damage on my clothing by arranging my hair very carefully over my shoulder when I left – I really felt as if he counted the hairs he needed to give perfect coverage…

Anyway, the whole experience was so bad, I almost hate to admit how great they did on my hair, but they really did and awesome job. As I said, I went in with the idea of completely light hair, but then quickly changed my mind when I saw another girl getting her ombre on and looking gorgeous. The possibility of this hair style came into my mind again and so I asked for a dark grey to light ash gradation.

The lavender undertone faded away very quickly, but I am tracking down some purple shampoo I was recommended to get that cool glow back soon!

It’s sad that the place and the whole experience wasn’t good, but your hair look so gorgeous! 🙂

The salon really was the worst I've been to in Japan, but the quality was so good...

Sucks about the experience but at least the result is divine!

Can you please do a tutorial how you style your hair? I think my hair type is very similar and I struggle so much getting a good bang shape. Do you perm the ends or style with a hot iron? I am so curious!

I actually just filmed something like that the other day!! It should go online sometime next week!
I do everything with a regular straight iron on 200’C, for my bangs I just air dry them while clipped to the opposite side they should curl to and it works quite well for me! And then I just go over them again with the iron to make them a little more shiny!
