This show I was specifically excited for, as Sulvam’s founder, Teppei Fujita, used to be a pattern maker for Yohji Yamamoto – one of the genius minds that came out of Bunka Fashion College, the school I am enrolled at at the moment! And I don’t exaggerate when I say that almost everybody at Bunka is quite much obsessing over the world famous designers that went to school there, even some of the teachers won’t talk about much else. //eg: my fashion business teacher only talkes Comme des Garçons//
Anyway, I was happy to see some of my classmates to join me at the show, which for the first time included ladies wear as well as mens wear and was very much western themed, which lots of denim, cowboy boots, and leather belts and fringes here and there. Seams on the outside and a lot of distress were also always around and underlined Fujita’s aesthetic while also hinting towards the roots of his career.
The Designer is very much interested in bringing his brand on an international stage and I am so excited where his talent and potential will lead him!
