When me and K decided to join my family to go skiing in Austria over the holidays last year, we started looking at big cities nearby to visit before going to Austria. After having lived in Japan for so long I really started to appreciate how mobile you are within Europe! And also the super cheap air fares available between bigger cities!
It took us two seconds to decide where we want to go: Paris! We had been talking about going to Paris for the whole year and now was the chance to go.
After three weeks of procrastinating, because planning trips not only for myself always stresses me out, K picked out his top three hotels on Booking.com, while I booked all our flights and we were good to go!
Then the huge tragedy of the terrorist attacks on Paris happened only a week after we set everything in stone… But in the end we decided to go anyway and had the most precious time in this magical city!
By the way, we stayed at the lovely Hotel Duminy Vendome , right behind Rue Saint Honore and only a five minute walk away from the Louvre in one direction and Place Vendôme in the other. It was important for us to be central, since we only stayed for two and a half days and this hotel was the perfect choice for that matter!
French breakfast at our hotel
Les Marquis de Ladurée, my favorite shop for chocolates and macarons!
The incredibly beautiful Christmas decorations at Galeries Lafayette
When in tourist mode, wear comfortable shoes!
Lunch at Ladurée Champs Elysées
Part 2 is coming soon! ♥
